6G by 2030?
Looking out to the future at promising technology trends, it appears that there could be inflection points that may lead to a 6G network by 2030.
For example, the ITU-T Focus Group Technologies for Network 2030 IMT-2030/FG NET-2030 [13], established in July 2018, has come up with a study on network architecture and the enabling mechanisms required to support novel 6G scenarios and use cases. The group believes that ‘Network 2030’ is possible, and is working to formulate all aspects of Network 2030; including vision, requirements, architecture, novel use cases, evaluation methodology, and so forth. It also provides guidelines for a standardization roadmap.
Now is the time
As stated previously, we’re nearing a major development in 6G technology, even though we’re still in 5G’s early days.
We don’t know exactly when 6G will become a reality but we do know that it is inevitable. So, the question is, what part do you want to play in its development and eventual roll out?
