(Generative) Artificial Intelligence is the talk of the town
After ChatGPT came into play it transformed into the swiftest consumer app of all time, the rapid adoption has led to a new realm of AI technology with companies investing heavily to push the new technology to the masses. At MWC this trend is evident in consumer devices, companies launched many new tech gadgets powered by AI, like phones, ring and PCs.
Sci-Fi becomes reality! Several new generation robots were displayed in MWC24, showing the large potential of combining LLM technologies with robotics, and creating robots with human-like abilities, thanks to advanced technologies including vocal synthesis, facial recognition systems, and a variety of sensors.
During MWC five operators officially launched the AI alliance, with the goal of developing LLMs for telcos, trained on Telco domain knowledge, improving performance and reducing time-to-market of GenAI use cases. Other players in the connectivity sector, such as the hyperscaler Huawei and the NSP Nokia, are also actively engaged in developing LLMs with comparable capabilities.
Many panels and keynotes addressed the role of Telcos as an enabler of this GenAI Future, especially facilitating the adoption for the Small and Medium Enterprises and ensuring a robust network ready for the flow of data that comes from AI operations.
