MWC24 marked the one-year anniversary of the Open Gateway initiative. More than 40 operators have launched network APIs to unlock 5Gs full potential. At MWC24, use cases such as fraud prevention, remote assistance and customer verification were demonstrated.
Telcos and LEO operators like Starlink and OneWeb/Eutelsat discussed the critical importance of NTN in ensuring future global connectivity and fail-safes in mission-critical scenarios. Integration into existing infrastructure is key, though regulatory and technical challenges remain.
5G Monetization innovations continue to drive discussion at MWC24, with on-demand slicing, private networks, FWA and tailored industrial services taking centre stage. Leaders explore partnerships and value- added offerings to maximize revenue from ultra-fast, low-latency networks.
